TREC is built on a 7-acre site located along the bustling Jalan Tun Razak. With front-row views of the spectacular greens of the Royal Selangor Golf Club, and within the immediate vicinity of the upcoming Ikea/Ikano Megamall development, TREC has an enviable location.
The estate has five zones and each has a distinct character, offering an exciting variety of eateries, clubs, bars/pubs, cocktail bars, live music venues and a comedy club.
Endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia as a Designated Entertainment Zone under the NKEA EPP 8 programme, TREC is also part of KL's Master Tourism Plan 2015-2025. The estate is also the first entertainment and F&B enclave in KL to be granted a 5am license.
TREC launched Phase 1 with the 11-room Zouk KL in August 2015 followed by Electric Boulevard in Dec 2015. Electric Boulevard features more than 20 F&B venues, comprising Malaysia's finest brands. In early 2016, Cycle & Carriage launched the first-of-its-kind Mercedes-Benz City Store. It also has a private iShowroom lounge, exclusive bar and lounge as well as interactive signage.
May 2016 saw the opening of Byblos Café & Lounge and established Singapore brand, Le Noir, at Phase 2, The Hive. To add its lifestyle offerings, TREC also conceived KL's first music-centric flea market, A Sunday Affair, which draws some 2,000 fun-seekers. It paved the way for the debut of THISCOVER Weekend at TREC.

The developer of TREC, TREC Holdings is joint venture between Cher Ng, Dato' Douglas Cheng and Berjaya Assets Berhad.
Cher Ng is the co-founder and owner of Zouk KL, which forms an integral part of TREC's development. In 2004, Cher founded Zouk KL, which went on to establish itself as Malaysia's most successful nightclub. Under Cher's stewardship, Zouk KL expanded its revenue growth and patronage over the years, drawing 15,000 visitors a week - despite the emergence of new players on the scene.
Dato' Douglas Cheng is a prominent local businessman and entrepreneur, who also has interests in F&B (Dragon-i, Canton-i, La Scala), gaming (GPL Group) and sports facilities (Sports Planet), Dato' Douglas is a qualified advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya and is a partner in Nesan, Cheng and Co, Advocates and Solicitors.
Berjaya Assets Berhad is listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia. It is the developer of Berjaya Times Square, one of Malaysia's largest retail and commercial projects - an international landmark for Kuala Lumpur. Berjaya Assets Berhad forms of part of the Berjaya Group, a diversified Malaysian conglomerate with interests in property development, resorts, F&B, motor vehicle distribution and education. The Berjaya Group was added to the Morgan Stanley Capital International Index (MSCI) Index Malaysia in 2010.
